When asked how, and why, Lewandowski-Lois has a thing for machines, she usually replies, “my father (Joseph Lewandowski) and my mother (Laura Godlewski) met when they worked at a spark plug factory in the industrial city of Syracuse–and sparks flew. So machines are in my DNA!” (As a testament to their love, Rosemary Lewandowski was born a year later in 1930, a child of the depression.)
